Salter's Restaurant

LOCATION
Saltram Wine Estate is located at Angaston in South Australia’s beautiful Barossa Valley region, 80 – 90 minutes drive from Adelaide.

DETAILS
The heart of the Estate is Mamre Brook House, built by the property’s original owner in the 19th Century. Surrounded by well-tended gardens and Saltram’s historic vineyards, this lovely house provides the perfect backdrop for Salter’s modern menu. Open daily for lunch, the restaurant serves up hearty entrees and mains to untroubled diners who gossip happily under shady umbrellas on the sunny deck. The interior of the restaurant is stylish yet minimal with the atmosphere of an upmarket café. Salter’s Kitchen is a simple, elegant eatery that embodies the warm, country charm of the Barossa Valley.

WINE TASTING BAR
Saltram’s Tasting Bar is the place to go to sample the Estate’s exquisite wine range. Sip on a glass of full-bodied Shiraz and soak up the rustic simplicity of the wood-lined bar while you talk grapes, vintages and varietals with one of Saltram’s friendly wine servers.

FUNCTIONS
Saltram Wine Estate offers several function options appropriate for weddings, birthdays, business meetings and celebrations. Dolan’s Den is an intimate setting catering for up to 40 for dinner, 60 for cocktails. The Grey Floor is suitable for larger functions and has its own private bar. The room can hold 110 for a sit-down dinner, 180 for cocktails.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
The menu at Salter’s Kitchen is modern Australian cuisine at its most thoughtful and scrumptious. The signature potato and rosemary flatbread ($8) comes straight from the wood oven, and is a nice way to start your food journey. All entrées and mains are accompanied by discerning wine pairings. Choices include soup, salmon and scallops for entrée. Mains venture into more adventurous territory and include dishes such as the Doube of ox cheek on a celeriac and liquorice puree with crispy beetroot wedges for that undeniably Aussie touch ($25.50). A humble selection of house-made wood oven pizzas provides a great choice for diners who love to share. Needless to say, the Saltram wines speak for themselves and if they don’t, any one of the knowledgeable staff will be happy to advise you. Salter’s is open for lunch only, however functions can be organised day or night.

OPENING HOURS
The Tasting Bar is open daily from 10am – 5pm. Salter’s Kitchen is open daily for lunch, 12 – 3pm.
