James Street Bistro is, as the names suggests, on James Street at Fortitude Valley next door to Palace Centro making it a popular spot for movie goers. But the bistro offers much more than a quick coffee and a sumptuous cake before seeing the latest blockbuster. Anyone who enjoys a lingering breakfast will find the bistro’s breakfast menu full of tempting treats including the wood-oven roasted muesli with rhubarb compote, and the vanilla cinnamon French toast with whipped ricotta and fresh berries. Wash it down with a refreshing sunrise juice which has a Berocca thrown in for a little extra lift.
Diners can choose to sit inside or out while sampling the bistro’s original recipes. The cosmopolitan menu is extensive covering lunch and dinner with mouth-watering entrees such as rabbit and roast chestnut terrine with blood olive salad and sourdough toast, and house-cured Atlantic salmon with Champagne and chilli oil. Move on to something hearty like the venison and cherry sausages served with Yorkshire pudding, mash potato and pepper jus. There is an innovative selection of wines on hand to enjoy with the meal and attentive and professional staff to ensure your needs are met.
